Forester is a focused, permanent-license environment tool for Cinema 4D. It generates procedural trees, plants, rocks, and distributions without sending the scene to a separate application. The official $350 price buys four modules: Forester Trees, MultiFlora, MultiCloner, and Forester Rock.
Its strongest case is control. A stock tree model is quick, but it is still one model. Forester exposes the tree’s branching, trunk, roots, leaves, growth, and wind as parameters. That difference matters when art direction calls for a precise silhouette, a looping wind animation, or several related variations rather than a forest of repeated assets.
Forester is not a current-material-library shortcut. The base product generates Cinema 4D standard materials, and 3DQUAKERS reserves renderer-native materials for its expansion packs. Buyers using Redshift, Octane, Arnold, Corona, or V-Ray should plan the shading workflow before purchase.
What is included
Forester is divided into four generators and distribution tools:
- Forester Trees creates procedural trees with trunk, branch, root, leaf, growth, UV, snow, fruit, and wind controls.
- MultiFlora creates grass, flowers, and other plants with editable procedural parts and its own wind behavior.
- MultiCloner scatters objects and filters distribution by properties such as slope, height, camera frustum, noise, and weight maps.
- Forester Rock creates procedural rocks with multiple deformation levels, profile, taper, scaling, subdivision, and UV controls.
The included library contains 72 tree presets and 50 MultiFlora plants according to the current FAQ. The trees and plants remain procedural, so presets are starting structures rather than fixed meshes. Forester does not ship with a rock library; users create and save their own rock presets.

Price, updates, and licensing
3DQUAKERS lists Forester for Cinema 4D at $350. Expansion Pack 1 costs $107 and adds 51 tree species, each supplied as Adult, Young, and LowPoly versions. Expansion Pack 2 also costs $107 and adds 51 plant species. Each expansion can create materials for listed render engines.
Forester’s license is permanent. The FAQ says buyers receive 1.x point updates for two years. After that window, a $125 one-year maintenance plan keeps the base product current for another year. Each expansion maintenance plan is listed at $30 per year.
Licensing is machine-based and tied to the chosen machine’s MAC address. A single license covers one machine, though it can run across several Cinema 4D installations on that same machine. Forester does not currently support floating licensing. That can be inconvenient for artists who split work across a desktop and laptop or for studios that expect a central license pool.
Team Render and command-line clients do not require additional Forester licenses according to the FAQ. The main machine does require a license, and the plugin folder must be present on clients.
There is no trial version. 3DQUAKERS says the reason is that the generators can be made editable. The company instead provides video documentation and a 14-day refund policy.
Cinema 4D and renderer compatibility
The official FAQ lists Windows and macOS compatibility with Cinema 4D R20 through R26 and annual releases 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. That is unusually clear for a third-party Cinema 4D plugin.
3DQUAKERS lists Arnold, Octane, Corona, Redshift, and V-Ray among supported third-party renderers. Support here means Forester’s generated geometry can be rendered. The base plugin only creates basic Cinema 4D materials. It does not generate renderer-native materials.
The expansion packs change that equation. Expansion Pack 1 lists material generation for Cinema 4D Standard/Physical, Octane, Redshift, Corona, Arnold, V-Ray, and Thea. Check the exact expansion and renderer version before assuming every preset is ready to render.
This split is the biggest purchase detail on the page. A procedural tree generator and a finished asset library are not the same thing. Forester gives the geometry and selection structure, but the base product may leave substantial look-development work for modern render engines.
Forester Trees in practice
The tree module goes beyond trunk height and leaf count. 3DQUAKERS documents spline input for trunk paths and cross sections, multiple branch controls, root flares, root attachments, protrusions, fruit geometry, snow, UV controls, material selection tags, viewport simplification, render subdivision, and growth controls.
Procedural control helps with three production problems. First, it creates variation without buying another species pack for every silhouette. Second, it lets the artist make a tree fit a composition by adjusting branch spread, trunk path, or profile. Third, it keeps growth and wind available as animation parameters.
The danger is geometry. A detailed tree with dense leaves can become heavy, and a forest multiplies that cost. Forester can display trees as OpenGL lines, use render subdivisions, and rely on Cinema 4D instancing through MultiCloner. Those controls should be used from the start rather than after viewport performance collapses.
MultiFlora and ground detail
MultiFlora creates plants from parametric stems, grass blades, flowers, branches, and related components. 3DQUAKERS documents bend, fold, branching, petal and filament controls, geometry-based distribution, material selections, and a 50-plant library.
This is useful for hero vegetation and art-directed ground cover. It is less appealing if the job only needs background plants and the studio already owns a large render-ready asset library. Procedural freedom has a setup cost, particularly in shading.
The included plant textures update when a library plant is selected, according to the FAQ. Users can replace them with custom textures. As with trees, test the material conversion or rebuilding workflow in the final renderer.
MultiCloner and large scenes
MultiCloner distributes geometry with noise patterns, bias, even spacing, slope and height filters, weight maps, and camera-frustum awareness. Point display and render instances help keep a heavy scatter manageable.
Its main attraction is keeping generation and distribution in one plugin. A tree can be edited and the scatter updates without an export-import cycle. Geological filters allow vegetation to respond to terrain rather than reading as a uniform random spread.
Cinema 4D already offers MoGraph, Fields, and current scatter-related tools, so MultiCloner should be judged on the exact forest setup. Forester’s integration with its own tree and plant generators is the differentiator, not the mere ability to clone objects.
HyperWind and animation
HyperWind applies procedural wind to trees and MultiFlora plants. The product supports looping wind over a specified frame range, per-element plant wind controls, modulation, and cache generation.
Caching is required for correct motion-blur workflows according to the FAQ. That is a normal production constraint, but it means “procedural” does not remove all preprocessing. Test one tree, then a representative scatter, and inspect both deformation and motion blur in the final renderer.
Looping is particularly useful for broadcast backgrounds, ambient screens, and repeated shots. A controlled cycle is easier to schedule than a long unique simulation, and related tree variations can still share the overall timing.
Limitations that matter
The absence of a trial means evaluation relies on official videos and the refund window. Machine-locked licensing is less flexible than account or floating activation. The base product’s standard-material output also creates extra work for most current third-party render pipelines.
There is a legal constraint worth noticing. 3DQUAKERS states that customers may not sell assets created with its software. That affects anyone planning to use Forester to author trees, plants, rocks, or models for an online asset store. It does not read like a normal restriction on rendered client work, but sellers should read the full license and ask 3DQUAKERS about their exact business model.
Who should buy Forester
Forester fits Cinema 4D artists who need custom vegetation without learning a separate tree application, particularly when growth or looping wind is part of the shot. It also suits small studios that value a permanent license and free render clients.
It is less attractive for artists who only need occasional background trees, want renderer-native materials out of the base box, use several machines under one artist, or plan to sell generated 3D assets.
